Dr. Mikaela Buchli-Kelly earned her Doctor of Chiropractic from the Canadian Memorial Chiropractic College following an Honours Bachelor of Fine Arts in Dance and Kinesiology from York University. In addition to her chiropractic education, Dr. Buchli-Kelly is trained in Contemporary Medical Acupuncture and Upper Extremity Athletic Movement Assessment.

Dr. Buchli-Kelly uses the various skills gained from her education and experience to take an integrative approach to patient care. She incorporates spinal manipulative therapy, acupuncture, soft tissue therapy and rehabilitation exercise to help her patients recover from injury, move and feel better. Brian completed his graduate degree in physical therapy at the University of Toronto, after graduating from the University of Guelph human kinetics program. Since graduating from physiotherapy school in 2014, Brian has worked in the orthopedic field, treating musculoskeletal and neurological injuries.

Brian is a level 3 manual therapist through the orthopedic division of the Canadian Physiotherapy Association, and will be challenging the Intermediate exam in the spring of 2018. He obtained his acupuncture training through the McMaster Contemporary Medical Acupuncture program, and is also trained in soft tissue release techniques and sport taping. Brian has treated a wide spectrum of patients, ranging in both functional ability and age. As a lifelong athlete, he understands the trials of injury as well as the rehab journey to get back to full function.

Brian’s areas of particular interest include injuries to the shoulder and the ankle, as these are areas that he has had to rehab in his own athletic journey playing baseball, volleyball, and running track. A very hands-on therapist, Brian combines this with acupuncture and functional exercise prescription to address pain and restore function; his main goal is to get clients back to doing what they want to do, and to prevent future injury. After receiving his Bachelor of Arts in Kinesiology degree from Western University, Taylor completed the Master of Science in Physical Therapy program from the University of Toronto in the fall of 2020.

As a patient-centred physiotherapist, Taylor works closely with each of his patients to provide an individualized approach that will assist them in reaching their goals, whatever they may be. He incorporates a combination of exercise prescription, patient education, manual therapy, and neurofunctional acupuncture into his treatment plan depending on what the patient in front of him will benefit from the most.

Growing up, Taylor competed in several sports including basketball, soccer, and track & field. These days, he likes to stay active by playing a variety of sports (more recently he picked up squash and bouldering), working out, and going for daily morning walks. His engagement with sport and movement throughout his life has shown him firsthand the importance of physical activity for the maintenance of both physical and mental health. This experience has made Taylor passionate about working with patients of all levels of athletic ability so that they too can move well, move often, and live a healthy and active life.

Taylor has completed Levels 1 and 2 of the Orthopaedic Division’s Advanced Integrated Musculoskeletal (AIM) Program. He has also completed training in acupuncture through McMaster University?s Contemporary Medical Acupuncture Program and Acupuncture Canada’s Foundations of Anatomical Acupuncture (AA1) Course. Linda graduated from the University of Western Ontario in 2003 with an Honors degree in Kinesiology. She then moved to Perth Australia where she graduated with a Masters in Physiotherapy degree from Curtin University in 2006.

After graduating, Linda moved back to Canada and worked in private practice while obtaining her Intermediate Manual Therapy Diploma with the Orthopaedic Division of The Canadian Physiotherapy Association. She also completed Level 3 with the Acupuncture Foundation of Canada Institute, and Level 3 Lyn Watson shoulder courses.

In 2010 she moved back to Australia (Townsville) where she continued to work in private practice and took on the role as a Senior Physiotherapist. Linda supervised and mentored the junior staff and was responsible for all the professional development.

While living in Townsville, Linda completed the Sports Thorax course (Lee, LJ) and was excited to see how effective LJ’s methods were in treating the cause of the dysfunction versus just managing the symptoms. In 2013 she spent a year completing The Discover Physio Series (Lee & Lee) then further refined her skills by completing Part 4 of the Connect Therapy Series in 2016 (Lee, LJ). Linda’s passionate about helping people return to whatever bring them joy. She works closely with her clients to develop effective treatment plans that area specific to the individual. She incorporates a high level of manual therapy and acupuncture into her treatment approach.

Outside of the clinic Linda is an avid runner, enjoys yoga, and spending time with her husband and two little girls. With their recent move back to Canada they plan on travelling, camping and enjoying everything Canada has to offer.

Sarah Higgins is a Registered Chiropodist (foot specialist) and Pedorthist. Sarah attained a Bachelor of Science in Kinesiology (Hons) at York University and finished first in her class in Chiropody at the Michener Institute. Sarah is also a Registered Pedorthist with a deep understanding of orthotic and footwear fabrication. She is also trained in Manual Foot Therapy Technique which decreases joint stiffness restoring gait function and balance.

Sarah places special focus on biomechanical foot pathologies such as plantar fasciitis, bunions, and posterior tibial tendon dysfunction. She develops comprehensive evidence-based management solutions for each patient. In addition to private practice, Sarah works in partnership with UHN, Women’s College Hospital.

Sarah enjoys educating and mentoring future practitioners as a Clinical Educator and was recently invited to lecture at Western University on the topic of “Foot Structures and Classifications”. Education is a core focus of her patient engagement, and she offers webinars such as “Sore Feet on the Job: Prevention and Management”.

Emily graduated with a Master of Science in Physical Therapy from the University of Toronto. Prior to this, she completed her undergraduate degree in Human Kinetics at the University of Guelph.

Emily has worked with many different patient populations including athletes, individuals with neurological conditions, and older adults. She has experience treating acute and chronic sports related injuries, repetitive strain injuries, pre and post-operative patients, and has a strong interest in preventative rehabilitation.

Emily will be completing her Level 1 Orthopaedic Division Manual Therapy level in December and is looking forward to continuing her education in manual therapy, acupuncture/dry needling, and pelvic health.

Emily’s mission is to help her patients get back to participating in their activities as soon as possible while promoting good movement patterns to prevent re-injury. She takes a client-centred approach to all of her assessments and treatments and works closely with her clients to develop individualized and effective treatment plans. Damanjit obtained his Master’s of Physiotherapy Degree from Queen’s University a Bachelor’s of Science in Life sciences from the university of Toronto and an Honors bachelor of Science in nursing from York University.

He got into physiotherapy from his desire and motivation to help people, his keen interest in human anatomy, movement and its complexities. Damanjit has extensive experience working with a wide variety of adult populations as well as in pediatrics in physiotherapy.

Damanjit takes an active patient-centered approach to therapy that combines individualized exercise prescription, manual therapy, and education to help his patients achieve their goals and return to their meaningful life activities. Michael graduated from the Massage Therapy program at Sutherland-Chan in 2014 as well as the Fitness & Health Promotion program at Humber College in 2011. After spending a few years as a personal trainer, Michael decided to refocus his efforts into physical rehabilitation and is now a registered massage therapist in good standing with the CMTO.

Blending his experience with both fitness and rehabilitation, his goal is to provide clients with a combined approach that is both proactive and long-term. Forever a student, Michael is constantly updating his skills and seeking new methods to provide the best care possible. After finishing her studies at the University of Toronto with a degree in Physical Health and Education (BPHE), Marguerite travelled to Ireland where she completed 2 years of college education in Massage and Holistic studies. These diplomas include Sports Massage, Reflexology, Aromatherapy, and Reiki which led to working as a Massage Therapist in Ireland. Following this experience, Marguerite returned to Toronto and is a registered Massage Therapist with The College of Massage Therapists of Ontario.

Practicing full-time since 2013 Marguerite enjoys incorporating her skill set into each treatment, as needed. Most recently, she completed a 120 hour course in Manual Lymphatic Drainage (MLD) through Dr. Vodder School International and is a certified Combined Decongestive Therapist (CDT). Through both MLD and CDT techniques she can treat people who present with Lymphedema. In addition, MLD is helpful for a variety of conditions - sinusitis, arthritis, repetitive strain injury, injury healing and edema (swelling) reduction and stress reduction. Alongside these conditions she also has experience in treating clients with neurological conditions (post-stroke, Multiple Sclerosis, Guillain Barre Syndrome) and post-orthopedic surgery clients.

Margarita is a Registered Massage Therapist, Certified Yoga Instruction and a Thai Massage Practitioner. She has over 9 years of experience as a Yoga Teacher and 5 years as a Thai Massage Practitioner. Margarita finished her Registered Massage Therapy program in August 2020, graduating with honours from Kikkawa College. Margarita pairs her educational experience and her background in movement to help patients move freely and relieve pain. She has also compled the Contemporary Medical Acupuncture program at McMaster University and she believes that acupuncture is a great complementary tool to help patients with muscular skeletal dysfunctions by targeting the nervous system and providing a more complete therapeutic treatment. Gabriela is a graduate of the University of Toronto with a Masters of Science in Physical Therapy. Prior to finishing her Masters degree, Gabriela attended The University of Waterloo and obtained her Honours Bachelors of Science in Kinesiology, with a minor in Rehabilitation Sciences. Early on in her studies, Gabriela was a teaching assistant in the human anatomy laboratory. This experience sparked Gabriela’s interest in the human body, with a particular interest in its intricate anatomy and physiology.

Gabriela has spent time working in not only a variety of health care settings, but also with a wide variety of patient populations. This includes; intensive acute care, rehabilitation care, and community care settings. Most recently, she has been focusing her practice in orthopaedics, including athletes of all ages, and helping individuals along their own path to achieving a healthy and active lifestyle.

Dr. Trevor Vander Doelen earned his Doctorate of Chiropractic from the Canadian Memorial Chiropractic College following an Honours Bachelor of Science Degree in Kinesiology from Laurentian University. He then completed a Masters of Science in Rehabilitation Sciences from the University of British Columbia. Dr. Vander Doelen is also currently pursuing a Sports Speciality as a Royal College of Chiropractic Sports Sciences Resident (RCCSS) resident. He is the lead author in a number of peer reviewed journal articles pertaining to injury care and sports performance.

He is the current Chiropractor at the Athlete Institute Basketball Academy in Orangeville that has produced numerous NBA basketball players. Trevor’s passion for his work has also led him to teaching his peers, as a current instructor in the Functional Integrated Acupuncture program. He was also a Lead Medical Practitioner at the Toronto Pan Am Games in 2015.

Dr. Vander Doelen takes an integrative approach to injury care by optimizing movement for both injury recovery and performance improvement. Along with his chiropractic education, Dr. Vander Doelen is also trained in Full body Active Release Technique (ART), Contemporary Medical Acupuncture (McMaster University), Functional Integrated Needling (FIN), Selective Functional Movement Assessment (SFMA), Neurokinetic Therapy (NKT), and Complete Concussion Management (CCM).
